WHAT AM I FOCUSED ON?

Updated: Jul 13, 2022

“I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.” (Philippians 3:14-16 MSG)

FOCUS QUESTIONS:

  • What am I really focused on?

  • What am I spending my time on?

  • Am I moving in God’s direction for my life?

  • Can I define and/or quantify progress?

  • Do I need to make any course corrections?

FAITH CONFESSION:

Abba Father, show me clearly what I need to be focused on in this season. Just as seasons change so does focus. I don’t want to waste any more time on unproductive things. I want to be off, running to You and doing what You’ve created me to do. No looking back or going back, only forward movement.

I will keep focused on the goal because I want everything You have for me. I have nothing else in mind. I am totally committed to Your will for my life. Now that I’m on the right track, eyes focused on You, I’m staying on it, not allowing anything, or anyone, to move me off it. I am not going back or trying to do things my way. I surrender to Your way of doing things.

“Sometimes our greatest challenge is not choosing between good and bad but choosing between good and best. A vision protects you from being misguided by good alternatives. It allows you to say no to lesser opportunities – even if there are certain benefits to them – and to stay focused on what will bring you the best results.” (Dr. Myles Munroe)

FAITH CONFESSION:

I must protect my vision, making it a priority so it can protect my time and choices. Vision will keep me on the right path. Vision gives me insight to recognize the best choices over good choices. When I’m vision focused, I’m giving life to the creativity in me which simultaneously erecting boundaries to keep me safe and on the right path.

Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.” (Luke 9:62 MSG)

FAITH CONFESSION:

That says it all. I must be intentional about my focus. I can’t move forward looking backward. I must seize the day. Destiny awaits. It doesn’t just impact me; it also impacts everyone I am connected to and will connect with in the future.

“When you set your hand to the plow, you must put your eyes on the mark and not look to the left or to the right because you will inevitably move toward whatever you are looking at.” (Dr. Myles Munroe)

FAITH CONFESSION:

I cannot allow myself to be distracted. I need to be laser focused on my assignment and doing things that impact my assignment. Lives hang in the balance!

Be Encouraged! ❤
