“I’m not trying to get my way in the world’s way. I’m trying to get your way, your Word’s way. I’m staying on your trail; I’m putting one foot In front of the other. I’m not giving up.” (Psalm 17:4-5 MSG)
I have learned to see the "Amen – to there it is," (the waiting time) as a time of preparation. I’m encouraged because I know that God waits with me. We’re both doing something in this time, although it may not be apparent yet.
Just like an infant, or child can't drive a car there are things I can't do until I "grow up," spiritually. There are things I must learn to walk in the fullness of my purpose and potential. I call them God's character-building moments and I've learned to treasure them. I don't want to get ahead of God or lag behind Him. I need to be in the moment with my Abba Father!
This has been a life-long lesson! As a "recovering professional" I tend to want to analyze and fix. I'm learning that this approach rarely, if at all, works where the things of God are concerned. It's a faith walk that I take step by step, day by day. I think my multiple lay-offs, and 10 years of unemployment, have contributed to building my trust in God and seeking Him for my next step. Do I miss the mark at times? Certainly! Then I just go to my Abba Father, and He helps me get back in step with Him! Hallelujah!
“When I said, My foot is slipping, Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, held me up. In the multitude of my [anxious] thoughts within me, Your comforts cheer and delight my soul!” (Psalm 94:18-19 AMPC)
Be Encouraged! ❤
