The most freeing experience is letting God handle it/them instead of me stressing over it, trying to reason it out, or trying figure out a strategy to deal with it/them. I have found the best fool-proof strategy ever - let God handle it/them and stay purpose focused.
Human reasoning will always fail us. We don't know what God, knows. We can't see what God, sees. What we can do is listen. Listen to His voice, seek His direction, and follow His instructions. When we do this we will walk in victory.
I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide." (Psalms 32:8 TPT)
Don't be like King Saul who stepped out of his assigned role and into Samuel, the prophets, role. He did it because of his fear of the people. Sadly, he was more fearful of them than he was of God and doing exactly what God commanded. He wanted to please the people at the expense of not pleasing, and obeying, God.
Let this Scripture guide you when choosing who to follow:
"Then Peter and the apostles replied, We must obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29 AMPC)
Pride also played a part in his downfall.
"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16:18 AMPC)
As a result of his fear of the people and his pride he disobeyed God's orders, then lied to the prophet, and finally, blamed the people for his actions.
The consequences were, he was removed as king, not immediately but still removed, and his family line was no longer eligible to be king. God chose someone else! One choice changed not only his destiny but his family's destiny. Remember this, choices can have far reaching, and long lasting, consequences, and not just for you! You can read about it in 1st Samuel 15.
Choose to do things God's way, be obedient, and trust Him during challenging circumstances and with challenging people. He is there. He will direct you to the best outcome for all involved.
"So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!” (Psalm 32:8 TPT)
Hold on to this promise for your life and you will be securely established:
"When Yahweh delights in how you live your life, he establishes your every step. If they stumble badly they will still survive, for the Lord lifts them up with his hands." (Psalms 37:23-24 TPT)
