“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMPC)
It's all about perspective. I'm trying to make decisions and act based on eternity. All of the "stuff" that has us entangled or tries to entangle us really won't matter when we're in the Presence of the Lord in heaven! So, is it worth our energy now? That's how I'm evaluating things that come my way!
Disclaimer: I don't always do it and get it right. It's what I'm trying to do, learn to focus on the needful thing, like Mary did!
"But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:40-42 NKJV)
No more distractions. Instead, I will focus on the needful thing, Jesus. I need Him in every area of my life. If something needs to be moved to make sure He remains my priority then it's moving!
FAITH CONFESSION:
Lord, help me keep my focus on what is important, You. Make me more like Mary, seeking to sit at your feet and learn and less like Martha, being busy with the cares of this world and missing opportunities to spend quality time with You. I want to think, talk, and act like you. Please sync my heart with Yours so I can reflect y0u to a dying world.
Be Encouraged! ❤
