“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (I Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV)
Giving thanks is my act of worship. I can worship because I love my Abba Father. Even when things aren't going the way I'd like them to go I know that He loves me. He is working on me and in me through the storms I face.
I give thanks for the process that builds my character to reflect His.
I give thanks for the process that causes me to trust His character and His Word.
I give thanks for the process that causes my faith to be strengthened and stretched.
Through it all I am always learning the importance of a thankful heart, not just in the good times. No matter what is going on in my life I have the security of knowing that my Abba Father loves me so I can give thanks.
“O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.” (Psalm 136:1 AMPC)
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!” (I Chronicles 16:8 NKJV)
Whether in peace or in the storms of life there is always something to be thankful for.
