SEEING YOURSELF CLEARLY!

“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye." (Matthew 7:3‭-‬5 NLT)

It is so easy to see other people's issues while ignoring our own. It's easy to want them to address their issues and not address our own. In every disagreement I ask God to show me what I could have done differently because everything that happens to us isn't always someone else's fault. Sometimes we contribute.

How about you do a self-check and pray this Scripture over your life:

"Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." (Psalm 139:23‭-‬24 AMPC)

Ask God to search you and show you - YOU!

You may or may not like what you see but know this, you don't have to stay this way! God does do overs! He doesn't leave us as we were or even who we have slipped back into being. As His child you are a new creation and that means the old has passed away. Walk in the new!

"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)

One thing I know for sure, God won't cover what you won't uncover. He spoke this into my spirit years ago, "Leisa, I can't cover what you won't uncover," and I've never forgotten it. This doesn't mean God doesn't know the issue, it means He wants us to admit the issue to Him and invited Him in. When I give it to Him, the good, the bad, and the ugly, He can redeem it! I can't!

If you need a do over pray this over your life:

"Soak me in your laundry and I'll come out clean, scrub me and I'll have a snow-white life. Tune me in to foot-tapping songs, set these once-broken bones to dancing. Don't look too close for blemishes, give me a clean bill of health. God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life. Don't throw me out with the trash, or fail to breathe holiness in me." (Psalm 51:7-10 MSG)

Remember this about our wonderful Abba, Father:

"But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy and loving-kindness and truth." (Psalm 86:15 AMPC)

Make this your heart's desire:

"Train me, God, to walk straight; then I’ll follow your true path. Put me together, one heart and mind; then, undivided, I’ll worship in joyful fear. From the bottom of my heart I thank you, dear Lord; I’ve never kept secret what you’re up to." (Psalm 86:11-12 MSG)
