OBEDIENCE!

Updated: Feb 17, 2022

When God asks you to do something that you find uncomfortable and your flesh is like, can I just pray for the person and not contact them? Uh, no! God had other plans. So, I parked my flesh and rode with His spirit. I obeyed! This walk with the Lord is uncomfortable at times but that doesn't exempt us from doing the hard things, from being obedient! There's a level of power and breakthrough in obedience that can only be found there. Obedience opens doors for the move of God. This Scripture took on a whole new meaning and impact for me as I grew in immediate obedience: But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.” (1 Samuel 15:22-23 NLT) Some takeaways: I want to please God, His way, not mine. I want to obey God, even though I did try to find a loophole and think of an easier way. (I won't do that again. It doesn't work!) Surrender means I do it His way in His timing. I definitely don't want to practice the sin of witchcraft brought on by rebellion, wanting things my way. And for sure idol worship is out so, taking a stubborn stance is not even an option. Finally, I don't want to be rejected by God. A timely reminder that something so seemingly innocent can have dire, long reaching, consequences. #LeisaWilkins #EncouragementInTheWord Be Encouraged! ❤
