So much pain could have been avoided if I had listened to God! Many times, I leaned on my own understanding, which let's face it is limited. Yes, I learned a lesson, because God wastes nothing, but not all lessons have to come from pain and leaning on my own understanding, which is disobedience really and usually brings pain. He does try to spare us if we would just listen and obey!
For now, this is the way I will travel:
"Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go." (Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT)
I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!” (Psalms 32:8-9 TPT)
I'm trusting Him completely and embracing His taking me where I've not been before! I'm also going willingly. God will not have to tug and pull me along! I'm just going with Him.
May I always remember this:
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT)
