Sometimes God asks us to stand still and others He tells to move, even when the direction isn’t clear! One thing we must learn, and remember, God doesn’t always show up or act in the same way even in similar situations.
Remember King Jehoshaphat when surrounded on every side, seemingly no way out?
He cried out to the Lord saying:
“We don’t know what to do but our eyes are on You.” (II Chronicles 20:12 NKJV) Then God answered. “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” (II Chronicles 20:17 NKJV)
Remember when the Israelites were at the Red Sea?
“And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:13-14 NKJV)
Then God replied:
“And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward." (Exodus 14:15 NKJV)
There are some battles that we do not engage in and others that we must engage in. Sometimes, we have to move even when we don't see the way or are afraid! The encouraging thing is our Abba Father moves with us!
Sometimes, when we don’t know what to do this must be our prayer:
“O our God, will You not exercise judgment upon them? For we have no might to stand against this great company that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” (II Chronicles 20:12 AMPC)
God always knows what to do.
Be Encouraged! ❤
