Today I’m thinking about ministry, how I do it, why I do it, evaluating the clarity of my vision statement and the application of the vision, while defining what success looks like. While this is personal to me, what God has called me to do, you can use these same Scriptures, questions, and promptings to take a look at what you’re doing for God or want to do for Him. Think of it as your blueprint for vision.
“May Yahweh give you every desire of your heart and carry out your every plan as you go to battle.” (Psalm 20:4 TPT)
“May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.” (Psalm 20:4 NLT)
Desire – a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen (Oxford Dictionary)
Abba, You:
Give me the desires of my heart
Make all my plans succeed
I believe You do this when my desires and plans align with Your Word. The closer I walk with You the more Your desires and plans become my desires and plans. Please, align my heart with Yours, Abba Father so I can carry out Your purpose for my life.
I am learning that sometimes desires and plans are achieved through battle and even then, You give me victory.
As I focus on my vision for the ministry You have allowed me to steward, I must take time to assess its effectiveness. Have I clearly defined what success looks like? I have to give this some thought because numbers and finances are not the definition of success for me. They don’t tell the complete story.
“People fail because they don’t know what they want to succeed in." (Dr. Myles Munroe)
SOMETHING TO PONDER AND PRAY ABOUT:
If my vision isn’t clear, I won’t get there.
If I don’t know where I’m going, I won’t recognize when I get there or if I’m even going in the right direction.
My vision statement is:
Encouraging and Empowering you to become who you were created to be, God's Masterpiece, a Divine Original!
My mission is how I get there. I had to think about this and this may change based on the seasons I find myself in.
Here’s my how's:
Sharing God’s Word daily via my website and social media platforms
Writing devotions that help others to love and apply God’s Word to their lives
Teaching and living the Word (which includes being transparent, sharing the challenges of life and how the Word got me through them)
Spiritual direction (one-on-one or in small groups)
Prayer (for myself, the ministry, those who God allows me to connect with, and opportunities)
Writing and publishing devotionals
I pray this causes you to take some time and look at what you do and define your why's and how's so you’ll have measurable landmarks that will help define your effectiveness along your journey.
Be Encouraged! ❤
