"You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it." (Matthew 7:13-14 NLT)
Never did Jesus compromise His message because someone wouldn't receive it or didn't believe it. Never did Jesus run after anyone trying to get them to see His point of view. Never did Jesus consider anything that was contrary to God's Word. And never did Jesus take Scripture out of context or say what people wanted to hear. He always spoke and acted in line with God's Word, not people's feelings.
When I speak truth, God's truth, and people walk away I let them. While I'm sorry, I won't say what they want to hear to make them feel good in their sin. I won't cosign dysfunction. The road to this has not been easy but I know I won't have to give an account for smiling at, or agreeing with, sin!
Yes you prayed. Now you're seeking a second opinion. Know this, God answered your prayer, but it wasn't the answer you wanted, so you're questioning whether you heard God. No matter how much you pray, He is not going to change His answer. Settle it, you heard God. Now, are you going to obey Him?
"God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?" (Numbers 23:19 NLT)
“I am the Lord, and I do not change." (Malachi 3:6a NLT)
Even if you get people to agree with you, cosign your sin, which doesn't trump God's Word or His answer. There is a price to pay for disobedience.
"God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him. You were foolish to go for human help when you could have had God’s help. Now you’re in trouble—one round of war after another.” (2 Chronicles 16:7-9 MSG)
