“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine." "For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT)
I've been trying to analyze the check in my spirit about something that a lot of people are loving, and wondering why I have this caution.
Stop.
Do not enter.
Detour.
Go around.
These are the things that come to mind when this particular thing comes up. I participated in an event that I enjoyed and learned a lot from, but have been restrained from going any further.
I'm reminded that everything isn't for everyone. While God may allow others to do it, He may not allow you to do it or limit your participation in it.
As I've always known and said many times, one size does NOT fit all! This applies physically and spiritually. What God is doing in one person's life may not look like what He's doing in your life, even under similar circumstances. Don't take your queues from people in seemingly similar circumstances. God's direction to them is to them, not you. He speaks to us individually. Take your queue from what Holy Spirit is leading you to do or say. Don't compare. Just respond with obedience. Remember, God sees the heart. We see the person and the circumstances. His view is more comprehensive than ours.
Just because it's popular, and everyone is doing it or running to it, doesn't mean it's for you. Yes, it may even be spiritually sound but that doesn't mean it will feed your spirit in this season.
"I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." (Jeremiah 29:10-11 MSG)
Trust God's plan for your life, always. No matter what is going on around you, keep your eyes on Him. You won't miss out on anything God has planned for you.
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go." (Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT)
Always remember, God sees what we can’t, and He knows what we don’t know. We can trust Him with everything.
Be Encouraged! ❤
