Let's revisit looking from an eternal perspective. When we look from God's perspective life is filtered through His Truth!
“To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 AMPC)
Key words:
Season
Purpose
God has given us seasons and purpose.
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT)
These two Scriptures have drawn my attention to:
Seasons
Purpose
Eternity
God has a time for everything. His purpose in us will be fulfilled. Nothing will, or can, stop what He has put in motion. We must look at everything through the lens of eternity. Ultimately, we must ask ourselves, will it (whatever “it” may be), matter when we stand before the Lord? When we can look through the lens of eternity we can make better decisions.
Knowing what’s important from an eternal, God, perspective will help us address whatever we face correctly and assign proper importance to it. It will reveal what's unimportant, identifying it as something meant to get us off track. It will also help us let go of things that are distractions. When we can ask, and answer, that question before making choices, speaking, and acting, we will reflect Him more. That’s our first and foremost assignment to be more like Him. Don’t let anything or anyone stop that.
Do not let what does not matter – matter! The enemy’s job is to distract us. Our job is to recognize the distraction and deflect it!
A Prayer for Us:
"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the dominion (power, authority, rule) forever and ever. Amen (so be it)." (1 Peter 5:10-11 AMPC)
