I'm always evaluating, to make sure, I'm walking in balance, especially in serving. I have to make sure it's a God assignment and not something I'm doing because it's needed and I can do it. I've learned that just because I can, doesn't mean I should! "But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it." (1 Corinthians 12:18 NLT) Since God puts each part where He wants it, that means it's important for me to focus on, and do, my part, not someone else's! I've learned that when I do something that isn't my assignment, no matter how badly it's needed, I'm preventing, delaying, someone else from their assignment. My focus is on the God thing, not the good thing. No one person is better than another in the Body of Christ. We are each created to work together in unity. Instead of desiring another person's gifts, let's each hone our own gifts, with Holy Spirit's help, so we're usable by God and fit correctly within the Body of Christ. When we're operating where we shouldn't be it causes everyone to be out of alignment. We can't function effectively this way. The world needs us to walk in unity. Let's be who God created us to be, and do what He's equipped and empowered us to do! Let's make this our goal: "Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions. Watch where you’re going! Stick to the path of truth, and the road will be safe and smooth before you. Don’t allow yourself to be sidetracked for even a moment or take the detour that leads to darkness." (Proverbs 4:25-27 TPT) We can't afford to be distracted. That’s good. I tend to want to help even when nobody’s asking. I have to remind myself to get out of the way.
