“I thank you for speaking straight from your heart; I learn the pattern of your righteous ways. I'm going to do what you tell me to do; don't ever walk off and leave me. How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word. I'm single-minded in pursuit of you; don't let me miss the road signs you've posted. I've banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won't sin myself bankrupt. Be blessed, GOD; train me in your ways of wise living.” (Psalm 119:7-12 MSG)
Consecration: Perfected; Dedicate; To make new; To renew; A making fit; Implying a process leading to consummation; a fitting or preparing fully; denotes a fulfillment, completion, perfection, an end accomplished as the effect of the process (Vines Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words)
FAITH CONFESSION:
I will consecrate myself by confessing my sins and asking for forgiveness before I pray. I will sincerely repent, turn away from that which I know is wrong and that which my Father convicts me is wrong. I believe through faith in the Word of God that when I confess my sins, He is faithful and just to forgive me of all my sins and continuously cleanse me from all unrighteousness, everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action.
"If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]." (I John 1:9)
PRAYER:
Father, I know You are faithful to Your Word. Thank You that when I sin, I have an Advocate, One who will intercede for me, Jesus Christ, Your Son. Thank you for making Jesus the propitiation, the atoning sacrifice, for my sins. Because of Jesus I can fearlessly, confidently, and boldly, come into Your presence, where I will receive mercy and find grace to help me when I need it most. I thank You for the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. I now confess my sins and by the authority of Your Word I walk in Your forgiveness and cleansing. I pray this prayer in faith and on the authority of the Name of Jesus. Amen.
"My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments." (1 John 2:1-3 NLT)
"Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it." (Hebrews 4:16 AMPC)
