CHRONICLES FROM THE PORCH!

Updated: Sep 7, 2021

These pictures show where Chronicles from the Porch was birthed. Whenever I visit my sister-in-love's house in Illinois I sit on the porch, look out at the beautiful forest preserve, drink tea, listen to nature, and write what God lays on my heart. Some writings I've been released to share and some may be shared at a later time, or not at all. That's God's business. (Sidenote: Everything we get from God doesn't have to be shared. Some things He wants to stay between you and Him. Release is based on season, not your excitement, and He will let you know when, or if, something should be released.)

There's something about listening to the music of nature, that brings such peace and contentment. I imagine that the creatures are praising God and that makes me happy. I stay focused. I listen. I write for hours.

I thank God for the insights He's given me on this trip. I've enjoyed myself and found a sense of adventure and spontaneity I didn't know I had. To just go with the flow, do the unexpected, and just be, without worrying about what I should do or what needs to be done, has been freeing. (Those that know me know the truth and power of this statement!) While plans are great sometimes we just need to flow in the moment and create precious memories.

While I'm saying no to more things that don't serve me in furthering my purpose, I'm also saying yes to things that better serve me as I serve others from a place of wholeness and peace.

I've learned so much about me including what sustains, motivates, and triggers me. Most importantly I apply grace to my thoughts, my words, and my actions. The same grace that God gives me and I give to others I'm learning to give to myself, not being so hard on me.

I can walk and serve peacefully in wholeness and grace leaving the results to God. I don't have to contend or convince, just obey and focus on God wholeheartedly. There's nothing more important.

This trip has been life-giving and life-transforming. I needed this and I'm thankful God provided it and my husband made it happen. All I can say is thank You Jesus!

Be Encouraged! ❤
