Chosen by God!
“Finally, dear brothers and sisters we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God.” (I Thessalonians 4:1a AMPC)
Faith Confession:
Lord, I pray that You would continually allow Your His Holy Spirit to convict me of sin, even the sin I've justified and have not identified as sin. I want to have a pure heart before You. I want You to be proud of me. I know You’re always proud because You see me through the blood of Jesus. I don't want to do anything to break Your heart.
This Scripture is at the foundation of my relationship with the Lord. When my focus is on loving Him, not breaking His heart, then I know my choices, my walk pleases Him.
"So, since Christ suffered in the flesh for us, for you, arm yourselves with the same thought and purpose [patiently to suffer rather than fail to please God]. For whoever has suffered in the flesh [having the mind of Christ] is done with [intentional] sin [has stopped pleasing himself and the world, and pleases God], So that he can no longer spend the rest of his natural life living by [his] human appetites and desires, but [he lives] for what God wills." (I Peter 4:1-2 AMPC)
Faith Confession:
Lord, I don't want to break Your heart. That's why quality time in Your Presence and in Your Word is a priority for me! Like David, I have hidden Your Word in my heart so I will not sin against you.
“I’ve banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won’t sin myself bankrupt.” (Psalm 119:11 MSG)
God’s Word is our compass, showing us the way. As long as we keep His Word before us, as an anchor for our souls, we will always please God.
