Chosen by God!

"Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death." (James 1:14-15 NLT)

Obedience and rebellion - knowing what You (God) have told me to do but willfully choosing not to do it! OUCH!

I was led to this Scripture:

"Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living." (Romans 6:16 NLT)

"Offer yourselves to sin, for instance, and it’s your last free act. But offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits." (Romans 6:16 MSG)

This Scripture, in both translations, caused me to pause and really look at my choices and recognize that some of my choices were made in rebellion and disobedience. I can sugar coat it if I want to but the truth is, I've chosen my way too many times. Sadly, in the choosing I still had an expectation of God blessing my choices.

I have some repenting to do so I can get back on track. Doing it God's way, no matter how hard - or inconvenient it may be, is always the best choice.

Faith Confession:

Lord I choose obedience. Help me to obey You in all things. I don't want to do it my way. Your way is always my best choice. When it's all said and done I want this to be my testimony:

"But everyone knows that you are obedient to the Lord. This makes me very happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong." (Romans 16:19 NLT)
