Chosen by God!
As believers, we are to be in fellowship with one another. It’s important to consult mature Christians when we are making important decisions as they can help us see God’s perspective more clearly. God never meant for us to do this life alone. He meant for us to be connected. It’s through connection that we can receive the help and guidance we need to live according to God’s Word.
"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken." (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NLT)
When we isolate ourselves, or believe we have all the answers, that’s when the enemy can deceive us and set us up to fail. We need each other.
“By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.” (II Corinthians 13:1 NKJV)
By seeking the counsel of mature believers we walk in safety. Our walk with the Lord is a growth process and it takes time in His Presence and in His Word in order to continually grow. We don’t know it all and it’s a grave error to believe we do. Even spiritually mature believers seek other spiritually mature believers for insight when making decisions.
