Chosen by God!

To experience a sense of peace and security in this life as well as eternal blessings and rewards in the life to come, we must focus on living in God’s will. Everything we need can be found in the Word of God. His Word is the root, foundation for our peace and security.

“My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all boldness, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For me, living is Christ and dying is gain.” (Philippians 1:20-21 HCSB)

“I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:12-13 HCSB)

Paul shows us in Philippians 1:20-21 and 4:12-13 that our focus must be on honoring God in all we do. He goes on to encourage us that through our relationship with God we can be content in any situation that we may find ourselves in. It comes down to, when we have God we have all we need and nothing else has the same importance.

“Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10 HCSB)

“When you lie] down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down, and your sleep will be pleasant. Don’t fear sudden danger or the ruin of the wicked when it comes, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from a snare.” (Proverbs 3:24-26 HCSB)

Solomon shows us in Proverbs 3:9-10 and 24-26 that we must honor God with the best that we have. There’s a promise tied to this, that what we have will overflow. We’ll have plenty. He also shows us that through our relationship with God we can live in peace no matter what is going on around us. Given the present political climate this is a very reassuring promise for this season.
