Chosen by God!

"You shall have no other gods before or besides Me. You shall not make yourself any graven image [to worship it] or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." (Exodus 20:3-4 AMP)

Anything we put before God, (people, places, things), could become a monument in our lives, taking the place of God. We must be careful that we do not make things, and even people, more important to us than God. It’s about balance. When the scale tips in favor of God, and the things of God, then we won’t put things before Him. When the scale tips in favor of natural things it becomes easier to forget God and react in our humanness. When we make God our priority by spending quality time in His Presence, and in His Word, then we will lead balanced lives, because God is first.
